Abstract: Kentucky's most expensive listing offers an incredible opportunity to live in a country retreat just minutes from town.

This property in Richmond, Kentucky is for sale for $19,640,700 on a staggering 1,750 acres.

"The sellers were the original owners and they custom built the home on a ridge overlooking the valley," said listing agent Hill Parker of Turf Town Properties.

The home is located next to a 22-acre lake on the edge of Crow Valley in Silver Creek.

"It's a private retreat, so the views are spectacular," Parker notes." It's unique in that it's only 2.5 miles from town, yet you feel like you're worlds away from everything."

No expense was spared in the construction of this 10,000 square foot luxury home, which was built in 2001.

"The home has vaulted ceilings and a gourmet kitchen," explains Parker." There is a spectacular amount of built-ins and lots of elaborate woodwork. They've used imported marble for some of the flooring, while other parts are made of hardwood. There is also a bespoke door that was made in Colorado. Everything in the home features the highest end finishes."

Other highlights include Douglas fir beams, hand-crafted doors, stone imported from East India, and a custom fireplace and chandelier.

"The wife is from Kentucky and the husband wanted to bring the Colorado feel to Kentucky," Parker notes." The home really is like what you'd see in the Colorado Rockies, with mountain views and extraordinary high-end finishes. They have refurbished the original 19th century farmhouse... The main house is actually a spectacular ranch."

The property is close to Silver Creek and has its own waterfall and alfalfa fields. It has a four-car garage, 10 barns, plus "miles of four-track steel pipe fencing; miles of six-inch water pipes; miles of paved roads; and more miles of gravel roads," the listing says.

Four other homes on the property are also included in the sale and are ideal for guests or staff.

The home was built as the seller's primary residence, and Parker hopes the buyer will use it as a primary residence as well.

"I suspect the next owner will be someone who wants to get away from it all. ...... It's incredible to have so much privacy and square footage and yet be so close to everything," he said.
