Abstract: Ryan Zimmerman first tried to unload his six-bedroom, 10-bathroom mansion for $8.5 million last year.

Nearly a year later, the beloved former Washington Nationals infielder has finally found a match for his incredible property in Northern Virginia.

The 13,000 square foot mansion on five acres in Great Falls has a final price tag of $7.1 million.

The estate and its gorgeous grounds include several water features (a pool, hot tub and koi pond), a two-storey play castle, plus a magnificent pool house, huge lawn and mature trees.

A lovely living room with beamed ceilings and a gas fireplace sits opposite the kitchen, which has a large marble-topped island with four bar stools and a lovely breakfast nook.

The master bedroom also has a fireplace, a sitting area, views of the garden, a private patio, and two dressing rooms and a luxurious bathroom.

A home library, office, family room and multiple bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms complete the living space. As for entertaining, you can sit down at the built-in bar, watch a movie in the home cinema, play in the games room or relax by the pool.

The exterior details are as luxurious as the interior, with a cabana, fireplace, bar and outdoor kitchen.

The pool house has a bathroom and shower, as well as a laundry room and a place for food preparation.

A children's castle nestled in the trees with a stone path is famous in its own right - it appeared on the TLC programme 'Enchanted Playhouse'.

Zimmerman, 38, played 16 years with the national team, was a two-time All-Star and was part of the team that won the World Series in 2019.

He retired from professional baseball in 2022 and was the club's home run king with 284. He now lives in a larger mansion in McLean, Virginia.
